Oli, who returned from New Delhi after medical treatment on Tuesday, said that the Maoists should first implement points 1 and 2 of the agreement - which are about forwarding the peace process and the constitution writing process -- to see translation of point 3 into action. The last point is about resignation of the prime minister. [break]
Oli´s remarks come at a time when political parties are engaged in interpreting the three-point agreement as per their own convenience.
The Maoists have argued that there was a gentleman´s agreement about the prime minister resigning in five days from Friday and have demanded he quit accordingly. But other parties have interpreted the deal to mean that points 1 and 2 should be implemented before seeing translation of point 3 in the hard-won deal.
Asked about a secret understanding on the prime minister stepping down in five days, Oli said that if such an understanding was reached, the Maoists should not have disclosed it for five days. He also accused the Maoists of breaching the understanding by making it public before expiry of the fifth day.

Meanwhile, top UML leaders briefed party Standing Committee members about the three-point deal and other matters that transpired in course of striking the agreement and that paved the way for extension of the Constituent Assembly last Friday.
Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Oli and General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel briefed other members of the Standing Committee.
