KATHMANDU, June 26: Madhesi People´s Right Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D) Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar on Sunday said his party would exert pressure for implementation of the five-point agreement reached between three major political parties on May 28.

´´We will put pressure on UCPN (Maoist), CPN-UML and Nepali Congress both from parliament and street to make them implement the five-point deal in order to complete the peace process and constitution writing,´´ Gachchhadar said addressing a cultural program organized by MPRF-D student organization in Kathmandu.[break]

He asked three major political parties to work seriously for the implementation of the five-point pact that has been accepted as a property of the legislature parliament. Gachchhadar warned the country would get mired in crisis if political parties failed to conclude the peace process and promulgate the first draft of new constitution on time. He said the peace process must be concluded before the promulgation of the new constitution. ´´It will be meaningless to promulgate new constitution before the peace process concludes,´´ Gachchhadar added.

He asked Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal to step down for the formation of national consensus government as per as the sprit of the five-point deal. Gachchhadar claimed that Prime Minister Khanal wanted to prolong his term in office by misinterpreting the five-point agreement. He also expressed doubts that the peace process and constitution writing would be completed within the extended three months.

Speaking at the same function, MPRF-D senior leader Sharad Singh Bhandari claimed that major three parties would lose moral right if they failed to implement the five-point deal.
