House session to be prorogued today

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The five-month long budget session of Legislature-Parliament would be prorogued on Monday night, said Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.



He said this to reporters after meeting President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at the latter´s residence Monday morning. "The House will be prorogued today," Dahal said. 



The session of Constituent Assembly, however, will go on.



An official at the Parliament Secretariat told myrepublica.com that the secretariat officials are currently trying to retrieve record of this session. "They are trying to collect statistics about the about the number of bills passed and other works accomplished by the Legislature-Parliament," he added. [break]



Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai presented a budget of Rs 236 billion in the session.
