The speaker instructed Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam to inform the House about the incidents in the next meeting, after lawmakers from Parsa, Bara among other Tarai districts sought the government's clarification about the incidents. Altogether 10 protesters have lost their lives in the clash with the security forces during fresh protests organized by the United Democratic Madheshi Front (UDMF) in various Tarai districts."The government should pro-actively inform the House about such incidents. As the various lawmakers have raised the issue of repression by the state, I instruct the home minister to inform the next House meeting about the incident," said Nembang.
Earlier, lawmakers had sought the clarification from home minister about the loss of lives during the protests, accusing the government for using excessive force against the protesters. Even lawmakers from the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have blamed the government for using excessive force. NC lawmaker Farmulla Mansur and UML lawmaker Nagendra Tharu accused the government for lacking proper approach for talks with the agitating parties. Prabhu Sah of UCPN (Maoist), Ram Dulari Chaudhari of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N), Ashok Rai of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN), Aasha Chaturbedi of Madheshi Peoples Right Forum Democratic (MPRF-D), including other lawmakers condemned the killing of protesters in Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Saptari and other Tarai districts.
