HETAUDA, June 14: Officials and health workers at the Hetauda District Hospital have closed services of the hospital for an indefinite period. The hospital administration and health workers closed the hospital after a group of locals misbehaved with the chairperson of the Hospital Management Committee, Saroj Kumar Khanal, and health workers.

Emergency and OPD services also remained closed from Sunday morning. Relatives of the patients have shifted the latter to nearby medical halls after the doctors halted services.

Locals had thrashed Khanal and doctors including other health workers saying that Janak Balami who was electrocuted on Saturday in Hatiya of the district died because of doctors´ negligence. Doctors said Balami had breathed his last before he was brought to the hospital.

The hospital administration informed all services would remain off until an environment for peaceful duty did not prevail.
