By creating this online portal, we’ve not only tried to disseminate information on the candidates, but the sample voting will also, in a way, predict which candidate is most likely to win the November 19 election,” said Bijay Khadka, founder/chairperson of Yes to Change and Strongcode Labs, at the launching program of hamroneta.com held at Sheesh Mahal of Indreni Complex in New Baneshwar on Saturday.
Various personalities like Dr Bhimarjun Acharya, expert in constitutional law; taekwondo player Deepak Bista; singers Nirnaya Shrestha, Pramod Kharel, Yam Baral and Sheetal Moktan; and lyricist Deven Giri, among others were present during the launching ceremony. The guests not only spoke about the significance of the upcoming election, but also casted their vote to a candidate of their choice during the demo of the online portal.
Right now, hamroneta.com only has detailed information on 4002 candidates from 127 different political parties. “We’re still trying to add more candidates,” Khadka shared.
The group believes that the initiative is meant to encourage the youths in particular to know about the candidates and make an informed choice while casting their vote in the second CA election.
