INARUWA (SUNSARI), March 4: The local authority has begun collecting details on loss and damage caused in agriculture due to the hailstorm that occurred in Sunsari.
The hailstorm lashed the areas during the last two days, Sunday and Monday.

The Agricultural Knowledge Centre in the district launched the drive to garner information through the local levels, according to Nil Kamal Singh, chief of the Centre. Earlier, the farmers in the district had submitted a memorandum to the district administration office via ward and local levels for carrying out damage assessment.
Crop conservation officer Mira Timilsina said that the center decided to conduct a monitoring of the agricultural fields and collect data on loss and damage. Wheat, maize, legumes, vegetables, and banana plants were damaged by the severe hailstones.
