NEPALGUNJ, May 21: UCPN (Maoist) leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara has argued that former king Gyanendra Shah can vie for the Constituent Assembly (CA) seat if he wishes for so and it would not be taken otherwise.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Revolutionary Journalists´ Association Banke on Tuesday, leader Mahara said the former king could take part in the CA election from any political party if any accepts his candidacy. [break]

"Door for possibilities is always open in politics and why should we be bias if someone wants to come with correction", he added.

He expressed his hope that government would announce the election date once homework to this effect was completed. The political parties opposing the election should be brought into a consensus, however, the election should not be postponed no matter what consensus was not possible, he said.
