Govt provides NOC Rs 1b to ease fuel flow

KATHMANDU, March 15: The government has decided to release a loan of Rs 1billion to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to help address the worsening fuel supply in the country.



A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday evening took a decision to this effect. According to Minister for Home and Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire, the cabinet meeting also decided to accept a loan of Rs 928.6 million from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for strengthening Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Likewise, the meeting has decided to forward an ordinance related to the function, duties and powers of the Constitutional Council to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav for an amendment.



Among other things, the cabinet decided to appoint 29 joint-secretaries who passed the Public Service Commission examinations.
