Govt invites 33-party alliance for talks a fourth time

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: The government on Thursday dispatched a letter to the 33-party alliance led by Mohan Baidya´s CPN-Maoist, re-inviting them for talks.



According to Bimal Gautam, the press advisor for Chairman of Interim Election Council of  Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, the government sent the letter to the CA poll-opposing parties. Earlier, the alliance had demanded that it would not sit for any talks to be held under preconditions.[break]



As per the demand of the disgruntled parties, the government sent the letter, its fourth dispatch to the alliance for the purpose. "However, the date and time for talks would be decided as per the convenience of the both sides," Gautam said talking to Republica Online.



The government has been urging the poll-opposing parties to sit for talks in its bid to bring them on board the election process. The disgruntled parties are yet to respond to the government´s invitation.
