They stressed the need to enforce ´one container-one goods, fair adjustment and banking system´ to ease trade between the two countries.
Participating speakers said this at a programme organized here on Saturday by Nepal Trans-Himalayan Trade Association, Sindhupalchowk Commerce and Industry Association and Nepal Truck Containers Entrepreneurs Association on ´Role of stakeholders in easing Nepal-China trade´.
Nepali business community should be cautious to promote professionalism and make their products competitive after being affiliated to World Trade Organization (WTO), they suggested.
The speakers also underlined the urgency of reforms citing that business community people have been facing physical complexity, security hassles and problems due to sorry state of the roads and unfair customs valuation.
On the occasion, Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal urged the Ministry of Commerce to take initiative to set up a mechanism at government level to expand perspective economic relations with China, promote export, facilitate bilateral trade and resolve the problems of business community.
"The government is ready to enable environment for trade and cooperation from business community is a must in this respect," he added.
Home Ministry Secretary Nabin Ghimire said that the transportation of goods could be made easier by equipping the security screening posts set up in various places with modern technology and that the government is committed to team up with business community in this connection.
It may be noted that the government has increased vigilance along the Tatopani Customs Check Point to curb unlawful transaction of gold, body parts of endangered animal species, red sandalwood and foreign currency.
