Government team holds talks with Dr KC

KATHMANDU, March 29: The government talks team is holding a dialogue with Dr Govinda KC and his team in connection with the demands put forth by Dr KC including among others to regulate medical education in the country. Dr KC is on a hunger strike at TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajung since March 23.

Member of the talks team Minister for Health and Population Khagaraj Adhikari and Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudel met Dr KC this morning and discussed ways to address the demands raised by him.


According to Jeevan Chettri, who took part in the dialogue on behalf of Dr KC, first round of discussion was held on the demands and ways to resolve them. The second round of dialogue will be held this evening or tomorrow, he added.

It may be noted that the government had formed the talks team, also including Minister for Education Chitralekha Yadav to hold dialogue with Dr KC, who is staging the fast-unto-death for the fifth time. RSS
