Defeating some four dozen other Nepali bands, E.quals bagged the first position to qualify for the Global Battle of Bands 2009 on November 7. Though they were to perform in the grand finale on December 31, the postponement of the international music competition kept them back in Nepal and gave them more time to practice for the better.
So, before bidding them formal adieu, The Group 4 Creation, an event management company coordinating from Nepal for the international competition, is hosting a live concert to wish good luck to E.quals.
“Good Luck to E.quals” will commence at Fun Park of Exhibition Road on January 9. To congratulate and give best wishes to E.quals, promising Nepali bands Cobweb, Mt 8848, Naki and Chakra Tandap will be giving their electrifying gigs alongside some metal numbers by other household metal bands.

“We were pretty sure that we would be the one representing Nepal in this coveted international music competition. Therefore, winning over other local bands in Nepal was not that big a deal to us. We’re focused on bringing home the winner’s award from London,” shared Anil Dhital, guitarist of E.quals. “And, yes, I, on behalf of my band members, must thank everyone for their kind wishes.”
Other band members of E.quals are Abhisekh KC on vocal, Bikash Gurung on guitar, Kunjan Joshi on bass, and Bibek Tamang on drums. This metal band will have to perform two of their originals within eight minutes in the grand finale.
The winner of the competition will bag a whopping US$100,000 along with an opportunity to record an album, the title of Best International Band, and a world tour.
