Gastroenteritis claims three more in Jajarkot

JAJARKOT, June 29: The death toll reached 32 when three more died due to gastroenteritis that broke out in various parts of the district since May first week.



Those died in later days are identified as Chandrakala Rokaya, 45. Kali Bahadur Gharti, 50 of Laha VDC-9 and Dhan Bahadur Singh, 29 of Nayakbada VDC-9.



As many as 4,000 people have been affected from the gastroenteritis broke out in one-and-half dozen VDCs of the district. Lack of pure drinking water and food pattern are said to be major causes for the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the district.



The outbreak has not yet come under control event though District Health Office so far provided treatment to more than 3,000 patients.
