Speaking on Saturday, he also warned Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai that he would be forced from office through mass protests if he refused to go quietly.[break]
Challenging UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s claim that the present coalition can remain in power for over 20 years, Gajurel said the government wouldn´t last more than three months at the most.
"There is no any alternative to finding a political solution through consensus and Bhattarai must vacate the office to pave the way for consensus," said Gajurel, who also heads the Federal People´s Republic Front. Describing the government as the main stumbling block to forge consensus, he said they wouldn´t remain onlookers while Bhattarai continued to take "anti-national" decision one after another.
Saying that any decision taken by four political parties on writing the new constitution wouldn´t be acceptable, Gajurel said solution should be sought from a round-table conference participated by all political stakeholders.
He held Dahal responsible for the failure to promulgate the new constitution and for the dissolution of CA.
He said reinstatement of the CA was unacceptable for his party. "Only a round-table conference can be a legitimate body and that we have no problem whether the president or the prime minister convenes such a convention," he explained.
