Gaindakot bus accident driver arrested in India

KATHMANDU: Driver of the ill-fated bus that plunged into a ravine in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi district has been arrested in India, Sagarmatha TV reported Wednesday morning. The driver, Jiwan Ranabhat, had fled soon after the accident in which 23 persons (18 students, four tachers and a cook) were killed and over 50 injured. The bus carrying mostly schholgirls returning home in Bharatpur from picnic in Butwal skidded off a bridge and plunged into the ravine.
