Four killed in landslide

DOLAKHA, Aug 10: Four members of a family were killed while the fifth one was rescued in unconscious state after a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall swept away a house in Syama VDC-1 of Dolakha Sunday night.



Nima Tenzi Sherpa, his 70-year-old wife Dolma Sherpa, great granddaughter Jangmu (12) and daughter-in-law Tashi Sherpa (19) were killed when the landslide swept away his house at around 11 pm, according to Pasdiki Sherpa, a local.



Nima Tenzi´s six-month pregnant daughter Kanchhima Sherpa (25), who was trapped under the debris, was rescued in unconscious state at 11 am on Monday. Nima Tenzi´s youngest son Furangnima and his wife who slept in a shed escaped the landslide.



The bodies of the four killed were pulled out by locals at around 11:30 am.
