FM leaves for Japan

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun left for Japan Wednesday to participate in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group being held in Tokyo.



During the visit, Pun is scheduled to address the World Bank plenum as a governor from Nepal on Friday, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) said issuing a press statement. [break]



Pun would hold talks with the senior WB officials and also meet finance ministers from bilateral development partners.



“FM Pun is also scheduled to address and interact with non-resident Nepalis in Japan,” said the statement. Pun was accompanied by MoF Joint Secretary Lal Shankar Ghimire. Finance Secretary Krishna Hari Baskota and Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, who are also the part of the Nepali delegation in the annual meetings, had left for Tokyo on Monday.



Dr Khatiwada and Ghimire would take part in the meetings of the IMF.
