A student, Dipak Acharya, who came to the district headquarters walking around 12 hours from Sinja of Jumla, said "I have been waiting for air flights for the past one week, but in vain". [break]
Students are not getting tickets even after paying double price from the earlier fare of Rs. 2,300 and 1,700 to Nepalgunj and Surkhet respectively, he said. "The local administration has been blind to the problem."
According to Assistant Chief District Officer Purna Prasad Neupane, an all party meeting was held to discuss the irregularities in the air tickets and the District Administration Office had written the Regional Administration Office and Civil Aviation Office seeking their clarification. However, no reply has been received yet, said Neupane.
On the other hand, airlines staffs said they were forced to double fares in view of very less air passengers in this season.
