A body of Bhim Bahadur Majhi, 31, of Baighagumha VDC-1, Chherlung Bote Gaun, was found buried in the bank of Kaligandaki River at Ramdi nine days after his murder.Along with Bhim Bbahadur, Puran Majhi, 35, Khum Bahadur Rana, 50, and Karna Majhi of the VDC had gone to Ranighat of the River for fishing on June 7.
Police said that Bhim Bahadur was beaten to death using stones and a stick by Karan in a fit of rage following a dispute over sharing the fishes.
Karan had also allegedly threatened Puran and Khum Bahadur not to reveal the incident to anyone. Later on June 11, family of Bhim Bahadur was informed that Bhim Bahadur was swept away by the river.
The incident came to light after villagers failed to hunt down Bhim Bahadur's body from the river despite carrying out intense search campaign and informed the police about his missing.
Police unveiled mystery about the crime after they took Bhim Bhadur's fellow fishermen into custody.
According to DSP Suman Kumar Timsina, Palpa district police chief, Bhim Bhadur's fellow fishermen confessed the crime to police during the custody that Bhim Bahadur was killed and buried by Karan at the bank of Kaligandaki River.
Timsina further added police have filed a murder case against them for the crime. Police pulled out the body, from the burial site, which was in state of rotten completely, on Tuesday. Police identified the body based on the name written at his wrist.
The body has been handed over to his family after postmortem.
