Addressing an interaction program organized by Reporters´ Club Nepal in Birgunj, Yadav said forces that are against federalism and republic have become active in dashing the hopes of Nepali people to build a new Nepal.[break]
“The federalism and republic will be at stake if the new constitution is not drafted in the next three months,” he said. “The dual nature of some Madhesi parties will also be responsible for this.”
Arguing that formation of Nepali Congress led government is unlikely at the moment, he urged NC to withdraw its prime ministerial candidacy and pave way for formation of a national consensus government.
Yadav added that the peace process had failed to reach its logical conclusion due to UCPN-Maoist´s reluctance to disassociate itself from arms and combatants. He said that the Maoist protest against Indian ambassador Rakesh Sood in Solukhumbu is against diplomatic norms.
