KATHMANDU, June 13: The Federal Democratic Alliance (FDA) warned on Thursday that the country would face serious consequences if the major parties embark on the electoral process without taking the FDA into confidence on disputed issues related to the Constituent Assembly elections.

FDA-aligned leaders urged the major parties not to announce the date of fresh CA elections without consent of  the agitating parties under FDA. Addressing at a press conference this afternoon, Mohan Baidhya, the chairman of CPN-Maoist, a principal force in the alliance, demanded that the ongoing procedure for CA elections be immediately stopped. He warned that elections would be impossible if the government act unilaterally. Meanwhile, Chairman of Federal Socialist Party (FSP) Ashol Rai stressed that the ‘four-party syndicate’ should end. Along with the CPN Maoist, the FSP and the Upendra Yada-led Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum, among other disgruntled parties, make up the 41-party alliance that has been pressing for replacement of the incumbent Khil Raj Regmi-led government with a new government under political leadership.
