Ram Kumar Paswan, of Siraha and Farmud Nadaf, of Dhanusha were earlier nominated as as parliamentarians under proportional representation in the vacant seats left by Maoist leaders Matrika Yadav and Jagat Prasad Yadav.

Maoists were not able to fill the vacant positions after the Supreme Court (SC) stayed the decision of parliament´s Business Advisory Committee to remove the Yadav duo, who formed their own Communist Party of Neapl (CPN-Maoist). The SC on Wednesday upheld the BAC decision. With the addition of two members, the Maoist party will have 239 seats in parliament.
