Issuing a press release, President of Paschimanchal Hotel Association (PHA) Biplop Paudel urged the airlines not to drop the plan as they have already installed X-ray machine at the airport for the operation of Pokhara-Lucknow flight.[break]
If the airlines has decided to operate flights to Lucknow from any other airport under political pressure, PHA is ready to oppose the move, stated the release.
“We are also ready to stage a protest against the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, if it has decided to operate flights from any other location,” said Paudel in the release.
Ananda Raj Mulmi, co-ordinator of Pokhara-Lucknow flight, however, s said that the Pokhara-Lucknow flight would start soon after the route is cleared. “The Pokhara-Lucknow flights would come into operation soon after necessary arrangements are made. But it would take time,” said Mulmi.
According to Budhha Air, the route for Pokhara-Lucknow flight has not been decided yet. “The flights will be operated as soon as necessary infrastructure is put in place and the route cleared”, informed Gautam Baral, station manager of Buddha Air, Pokhara.
Budhha air had decided to operate Pokhara-Lucknow flight from March, 2010.
