KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that the political parties should delay consensus on contentious issues in constitution writing.

He said that the previous constitutions were rejected as they could not address the needs of the people.

Stating that the government is doing its best to resume the stalled talks on constitution writing, he stressed on the need to hold extensive debate over whether to revive the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA) or conduct fresh polls.

He claimed that the government announced fresh polls in the line with the Supreme Court verdict.
