The doctors of Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok, where Shah is admitted, also referred to Shah´s medical condition as“critical" in Sunday´s statement from "very critical" as of Friday and Saturday.[break]
"The doctors were successful in stopping the bleeding from the stomach (of Shah) on Sunday," the statement says. "His medical condition remains critical but stable." The medicines needed to maintain the blood pressure were also reduced on Sunday, the statement further says.
Reliable sources told Republica that EEG - or electroencephalography, which records electrical activity along the scalp, according to Wikipedia, was also performed on Shah on Sunday.
"The results do not show serious complication," a source said, adding, "Doctors also said further blood transfusion was not necessary."
In yet another development, doctors were also able to raise the body temperature of Shah from Saturday´s 33 degrees centigrade to 34 degrees centigrade on Sunday. They are planning on gradually raising his body temperature to normal of 37 degrees centigrade.
Shah suffered a major cardiac arrest -- the second one after September 2007 -- at the apartment of Bangkok-based Nepali businessman Sunil Khadka at Rama 9 in Bangkok on Tuesday night, where he had been staying for around last two months.
