The match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium will be a do or die match for Nepal. Nepal had lost both of the matches against Malaysia and Oman at the stadium. Nepal have lost for the first time to Oman and Malaysia in any type of cricket in this tournament.
In Abu Dhabi, Nepal defeated Kuwait in bowl out after the regular match ended in a tie. Like Nepal, Qatar have won only one out of three matches played. Oman are on the top of the points table with three wins from the first three matches played while Malaysia and Kuwait have won two matches each.
The next match against Qatar will also be a chance for Nepal to improve their batting as Nepal´s batting in all three matches played has been dismal. Paresh Lohani playing as the opener batsman against Malaysia scored 19 runs. But in the next match, Mehboob Alam and Deependra Chaudhary are likely to play as the opening batsmen.
Likewise, all rounder Basanta Regmi owing to his injured shoulder is also uncertain whether he will continue to play. If Basanta does not play he will be replaced by left hand pacer Amrit Bhattarai. But, Amrit too has not played any match till date due to stomach problem.
In the first edition in 2007, Nepal had an early exit from the group match after they lost to Qatar. Qatar had defeated Nepal by three wickets on the occasion.
