KATHMANDU, Feb 11: After the overwhelming popularity of 'Kabaddi' and 'Kabaddi Kabaddi', director Ram Babu Gurung is back with the same team in his next film. On February 8, Gurung announced his new film 'Purano Dunga' during a press meet at Mandala Theatre in Anamnagar.
'Purano Dunga' is the tale of two brothers, Bhakta Bahadur Bhujel and Batas Bahadur Bhujel, who earn their living by rowing boats in Begnas Lake, Pokhara. What happens when the younger brother Batas takes away the boat after the family divides the property is told in the film. The brothers' stories will run parallel, one in the city and the other in the village.Director Gurung and writer Upendra Subba have come together again to write the script for the film. It will be different from the director's recent films and will be 'tragic' with focus on deeper human relationships. The story is actor Maotse Gurung's who plays the elder brother to actor Dayahang Rai in the film that will be shot by cinematographer Shailendra D Karki.
Shooting for the film has already commenced from February 9 at Begnas Lake.
Actors Pushkar Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Priyanka Karki, Menuka Pradhan, Sajan Thapa, Purnima Gurung, and Bishwas Gurung are also part of 'Purano Dunga'.
