The meeting was held at the Parliament Building at Naya Baneshwar. Asked whether the UML was proposing him to the post of Prime Minister, Deuba, who is also the leader of the main opposition party in parliament, said the proposal was late in coming.

He emphasised on the need of consensus and collaboration among the parties for constitution implementation. The NC emerged as the largest party in the Legislature-Parliament after the second election to the Constituent Assembly. It has 207 seats in the parliament.

The NC and the CPN (Maoist Centre) have reached an agreement to form a new government under the leadership of the Centre's chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal following the Centre's decision on Tuesday to pull out of the present government. RSS
