"There has been a tremendous progress in bilateral relationship between China and India and Nepal can play a crucial role in promoting the relationship between two economic superpowers of Asia," said Dahal, speaking at a function in SiChuan University before heading for Beijing. [break]
"In the current international political scenario, cooperation between these two countries can be important for us to safeguard our national interests. So, I would want a strengthened China-India relationship."
This is the first time Dahal, who is on his fourth China visit since peace process began in Nepal, clearly spoke in favor of strong China-India relationship while in China. Earlier, in 2010, speaking to Republica in Sanghai, Dahal had spoken about a tripartite strategic partnership between China, India and Nepal.
Dahal, who has been active in bringing huge investments for the development of Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha, through APEC Foundation, also lauded Chinese concerns over Lumbini development .
"I appreciate the financial and technical assistance lent by China to develop Lumbini as the center of Buddhist studies and the ultimate destination of Chinese tourists," said Dahal.
