KATHMANDU, April 28: Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ´Prachanda´ has said that there would be no compromise on the issue of state-restructuring by going back at any cost.

The Maoist chief said this with the representatives of Sherpa community at his residence in Lazimpat on Saturday. Earlier on Thursday, the Maoist party had tabled a proposal on state-restructuring proposing 10 different provinces in the new constitution. [break]

After meeting with the Maoist chief, Nepali Congress lawmaker Jip Tshering Lama Shrepa said that Dahal assured them that the Maoist party has not backtracked from the previous stance on state-restructuring.

On the occasion, Dahal said that Maoist party is ready to think if other political parties were ready for state-restructuring to provide rights to all indigenous communities, classes and regions.

The representatives of Sherpa community asked Dahal to not exclude Sherpa Autonomous Province and Jadan Province as proposed by the Constituent Assembly Committee on State Restructuring.

Over 12 lawmakers of UCPN (Maoist), NC and UML were present in the team.
