Couple held for trading in with fake gold

KATHMANDU, March 28: Police have arrested two men on the charge of trading in with iron pieces and swindiling a woman of RS 1.5 mln claiming them to be gold from Lagankhel of Lalitpur district.

The arrested are Ram Bahadur Thapa Bhujel,58 and his wife Dhana Maya Bastola,35 from Lamatar-6, Lalitpur.


According to police, the duo took one Binita Pariyar from Chitilahar of Lamjung into confidence and offered some iron pieces receiving 1.5 million from her.

The couple had met Pariyar while they were travelling in a same bus to Kathamndu from Pokhara.

Police investigation also reveled that the duo earlier had fleeced Tikadhwoj Khatri from Dhangpaldhap-7 of Sindhupalchok.

The duo have been sent to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for further action.
