Constitution draft torn in London

LONDON, July 21: At a time when lawmakers in Nepal are busy collecting public feedback on the draft of the new constitution, a group here tore apart the preliminary draft in front of Nepali Embassy on Monday.

Chairman of Sanghiya Samaj, sister organization of Sanghiya Samaj Forum Nepal, Dharma Tamang informed representatives of half a dozen organizations gathered in front of the embassy for the protest.


Tamang said they demonstrated as the draft was unveiled forging 16-point agreement going against mandates of past revolutions.  

They also send protest letters to Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman Subas Nembang, President Ram Baran Yadav and political parties through the embassy.

The letter reads that parties disobeyed the Interim Constitution and Supreme Court’s interim order.
