KATHMANDU, March 14: Chinese firm Forster Technology has been promoting water-powered generators at the ongoing Nepal International Trade Fair 2015.

The company is showcasing axial flow-type turbine generators, turgo turbine generators, tubular turbine generators, Francis turbine generators, and impulse turbine generators at the fair.

According to officials of Forster Technology, these water-powered generators will be of great help in places where electricity is not available. These generators can generate at least 600 watt of electricity.

"Power generated by these generators can use to light up house, watch TV or use different household appliances," they added.

As it is not possible to carry huge generators to Nepal for demonstration, company officials have been showcasing the generators through videos. "As these generators don't need fuel and are comparatively cheaper, we believe that our products will be liked by Nepali people," Nancy Lan, general manager of Forster Technology, said.

According to Lan, the demand for water-powered generators is high in China, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, among others.

These products are priced between US$200 and $400, according to Lan.
