The deceased has been identified as Sunil Ram Karki, 8, of Haldukhal of Bhimdutta Municipality-7 of the district. Sunil was admitted in the hospital on Thursday. His uncle Shiva Ram Karki said the cylinder went off all of a sudden.
But, Dr RB Chaudhary who was looking after the child said he died of snakebite and not because of cylinder explosion. He added that sound produced from the cylinder was due to a gas leakage. He said that the building would have also been damaged had the cylinder went off.
In contrast to Chaudhary’s claims, relatives of the child claimed that Sunil died of blast. The hospital was tense after the incident.
