KANCHANPUR, April 20: The cadres of the Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand have captured a land belonging to a sugar mill at Suda-6 of the district.

The cadres, signaling the capture, hoisted their party flag on the mill's land. The sugar mill is currently shutdown.

Party leader Rajendra Bista said 2.10 bighas of land was seized reasoning the land bought on low price from the locals was later sold on high price, thereby making loss to the locals. The locals had sold the land being assured of the low cost electricity and road facility for land sale, but it vain, he added, saying mill owner of Indian origin, Chaturbhuj Mohapal, sold the land on high price and took the hefty money to India.

According to him, his party has planned to raise the settlements of the landless people there. RSS
