“As EOS M is the first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera from Canon, it has been receiving good response from the customers in the countries where it is launched. Here also we have received lots of enquiries from customers,” Dinesh Agarwal, marketing manager of Primax International, said. “Hence, we are hopeful that the camera will be popular among Nepalis.”
The EOS M features a compact, magnesium-alloy body and comes with full compatibility with new and existing EF and EF-S lenses with adapter. It has a hot shoe on the top plate as it does not have built-in flash. As the camera does not have the built-in viewfinder, customers will have to compose picture using its rear screen.
According to the company, EOS M´s 18 mega pixels CMOS sensor and Canon´s DIGIC 5 Image Processor ensure high performance and exceptional image quality for both photo and video. Besides, hybrid Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Auto Focus (CMOS AF) system delivers ultra-fast focusing.
The camera´s ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 12800 and expands to 25600 ensuring high quality details when shooting even at high zoom and in low light.
“The increased sensitivity of the large sensor and the rapid processing speed of the DIGIC 5 work in tandem to produce high quality images with rich color gradation and better background blur,” added Agarwal.
The camera also allows the users to shoot full HD videos. It allows continuous AF tracking on moving subjects for fluid focus transitions and a built-in stereo microphone with manual audio level adjustment that helps the users to create high quality video productions.
According to the company, the camera with 3-inch multi touch touchscreen is available in three different packages which include additional accessories. The touch screen operation is designed in such a way that the customers find it easy to scroll and provide control intuitive experience.
EOS M will be available in four different colors: black, white, silver and red. In the international market, the camera with 22 mm lens is priced at US$ 800. The company has yet to fix the price of EOS M in the Nepali market.
