It may be noted that the Home Ministry recently issued a circular to the district administration offices in all the 75 districts to that end and the government gave recognition to it.[break]
"It is a matter of concern that the Home Ministry took a unilateral decision on the serious issues like the citizenship", claimed the organization in a memorandum that it submitted to the Kathmandu DAO on wednesday calling for scrapping of the circular.
It would be against the existing laws related to the citizenship certificates if the circular was validated, the memorandum added.
Similarly, Front chairman Phanindra Nepal has urged the administration mechanism in the country not to implement the ´unconstitutional´ and ´illegal´ decision and prevent the country from becoming a hub of ´migrants´.
Some 175,000 people had received Nepali citizenship certificates by birth in the years.
