KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has initiated the process to receive approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) for China Southern to conduct the C-check on its narrow-body aircraft.

Initially, CAAN had sought clarification from NAC after the state-owned airliner selected China Southern, a company that had not been previously approved. According to the CAAN, the approval process has now advanced forward.

As per Nepal Civil Aviation Regulations, aircraft maintenance companies must acquire approval from CAAN. NAC had selected China Southern for the C-check of the aircraft with the call sign 9N-AKW, and after submitting the necessary application, the approval process is now set to conclude.
