KATHMANDU, Oct 17: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday claimed that the political parties would forge consensus on reviving the Constituent Assembly (CA) within this month.

Talking to the media persons at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) after his return from Europe, he also mentioned that the opposition parties -- the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML -- have agreed to go for fresh election.[break]

“NC and UML are ready to go for fresh election. So, the parties will forge consensus within this month. We will try to forge consensus within this week,” said Dahal.

NC and UML leaders are divided on the issue of CA revival.

When asked if President Dr Ram Baran Yadav would accept revival of the dissolved CA, Dahal said the president would play a judicious role. “The president has assured me that he does not favor any particular political party. I do not think that the president is against CA revival,” said Dahal.
