BUSINESS BRIEFS: Rahul Ghee in metallic packaging

KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Rahul Ghee is now available in metallic packaging. "The ghee is automatically filled in metallic foil, ensuring better quality," Rahul Ghee said in the statement. The new packaging will also protect the ghee from outside temperature and direct sunlight.



The ghee in metallic packaging costs Rs 550 per liter and Rs 280 for a half liter pack. [break]



Shangrila Dev Bank turns six


KATHMANDU: Shangrila Development Bank has completed its five years of operation. Issuing a statement on Sunday, the category ´B´ financial institution said it organized a friendly basketball competition between shareholders and bank employees to mark its anniversary. The bank mobilized total deposit of Rs 2.57 billion and issued loans worth Rs 2.12 billion till the end of the last fiscal year, the statement added.



Zero percent scheme on Magic scooter

KATHMANDU: Shrestha Company -- the authorized dealer of SYM Taiwan´s products in Nepal, is offering Magic customers on installment in zero percent interest rate. Issuing a press statement, the company said customers can get the scooter by paying 50 percent of the price as down payment. "They can clear the remaining amount by paying Rs 110 a day for 24 months," the statement added. According to the company, the scooter gives mileage of 70 km per liter. The company hopes the new scheme would help those who can´t pay the entire cost of the scooter at a go. Magic scooter comes with two-year warranty.



United Finance to give 10% cash dividend

KATHMANDU: United Finance Limited has decided to distribute 10 percent cash dividend to its shareholders from the profit it earned in fiscal year 2011/12. Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the finance company said it made net profit of Rs 37.9 million during the year. The company with paid-up capital of Rs 35 million has Rs 57.5 million in the reserve fund. The company mobilized Rs 26 million in deposits and invested Rs 20.6 million in loans during the year, according to the statement.
