First Micro Finance to go public
KATHMANDU, July 6: First Microfinance Development Bank Ltd is issuing 300,000 units of ordinary shares worth Rs 100 each. The bank has appointed Ace Development Bank Limited as the issue manager.
Siddhanta Raj Pandey, CEO of Ace Development Bank, and Numanath Poudel, CEO of First Microfinance Development Bank, signed an agreement for the issue on Monday, the bank said in a statement.
Prime Life listed in Nepse
KATHMANDU, July 6: Prime Life Insurance Company has said that its primary shares have been listed in Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) for trading. The company has 3.6 million units of primary share.
Issuing a press statement, the company said its paid-up capital currently stands at Rs 360 million and it earned a net profit of Rs 56.75 million in the last fiscal year. The company has further issued 225,655 policies and collected premium of Rs 646.10 million as at the end of the 11th month of the current fiscal year.
The company is operating with branches and contact offices in 46 locations across the country.
Chery car for Dabur Special Miss Nepal
KATHMANDU, July 6: The Hidden Treasure, Dabur Nepal and Bama Motors signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to present a Chery QQ3 car to the winner of Dabur Special Miss Nepal 2010. The first runners-up will get a Mahindra scooter. The Hidden Treasure is the organizer of the annual event and Dabur Nepal is the title sponsor.
Issuing a press statement, the organizers said the deadline for submission of application has been extended by 12 days till July 16, considering request from the applicants. Miss Nepal beauty pageant is being organized regularly since 1994 and for the first time the title sponsor of the pageant is Dabur Special Hair Oil, the statement added.
The selected contestants will go through an extensive training program conducted by some of the best professionals in the country. The grand finale will be broadcast live on Nepal Television.
The winner of the pageant will represent Nepal in Miss World international pageant to be held in Vietnam and the first runners-up will represent the country in Miss Earth Pageant to be held in the Philippines.
Sipradi in traffic awareness campaign
KATHMANDU, July 6: Traffic Awareness Day 2010 was organized on Tuesday. On the occasion, Sipradi Trading - the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles for Nepal - handed over 500 jackets and 200 caps to traffic police.
