The bodies of Amar Sah, 19, and Ravindra Sah, both residents of Itahari-7, were found 100 meters away from the spot where they were drowned, said Inspector Rajendra Parajuli.
The two had gone swimming after taking part in a ceremony organized to immerse the idol of Bishwakarma Babain water. Another youth, 18-year-old Nischal Shrestha, who was also drowning while swimming, was rescued by police.
One dies in accident
DHANKUTA, Sept 19: A 34-year-old died Saturday morning after his motorcycle (Ko 1 Pa 1299) met with an accident at Ghantekhola section of Koshi highway in the district. Raj Bahadur Kafle of Tankhuwa-9, Dhankuta, who resides at Hansposa-2, Sunsari, died in the accident, according to District Police Office, Dhankuta. The motorcycle hit a ridge along the side of the road leading to the accident.
Cops drown in river
SINDHUPALCHOWK, Sept 19: Two cops who had arrived here on vacation drowned in the Sunkoshi River on Saturday. Sub-Inspector Padam Bahadur Gurung of Syangja and Constable Dipak Khadka of Sukute, Sindhupalchowk, have been missing in the river, said District Police Office. Both were posted at the police headquarters.
Man dies in custody
BIRATNAGAR, Sept 19: A man died while in custody of Morang District Police Office (DPO) on Sunday. Sunanda Singh Pradhan, 40, of Bhrikutihowk, Biratnagar-6, died moments after he was brought to the DPO. Pradhan was arrested after his wife 30-year-old Ranjana filed a harassment complaint against him.
