Now that the hot weather is creeping upon us, you might like to opt for some cool refreshing drink when you first sit down. There is Cold Coffee and Lemon Iced Tea for Rs 150 each, or mocktails like Summer Haunt and Shirley Temple. At Rs 250, Summer Haunt is a sweet drink of mixed juice, blue curacao and whipped cream. It might be a little too sweet for some of us and that's why it would be better to try the Shirley Temple (Rs 150). A mixture of Grenadine syrup, pineapple juice and orange slices, the mocktail has a pretty pink shade and is just the right amount of sweet and fresh for a hot summer day.
The staff also takes good care to speed up your orders. But while you wait, you can admire the walls where the owners have hung up prints of international icons and the barrels that double as tables over at the bar area.
The café caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates. Vegetarians can have their fill from Palak Paneer, Aaloo Parantha, Butter Naan, Paneer Pakoda and Paneer Chilli, and Aaloo Sandheko, among others. As for the non-vegetarians, there is a generous selection of dishes available for them as well.
A popular dish at the café is the Buff Sukuti (Rs 350) which is simply delicious. It will come to you in a papad. The dish is hot and sour; the perfect accompaniment if you're sipping on a drink on a breezy evening. As explained by the restaurant in-charge, Anil Shakya, the sukuti is prepared by first boiling, followed by shredding, and then lightly roasting the meat. Then it's sautéed lightly with onion, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, and chilies. Believe us when we say it's one dish that will leave you yearning for more.
Craving something crunchy and yummy? Go for for the Chicken Wings Fried (Rs 350). The coating is crunchy and light, and the meat is nicely cooked. The café also has good options for salad lovers like the Chef's Special Salad (Rs 350) and the Chicken Salad (Rs 300).
Their steaks are also popular among the regular customers of the café. They offer a variety of meat options, like beef, ostrich, etc. At Rs 700, the Sizzling Steak might seem a little expensive but it's a good dish to sample. The vegetables are roasted which means it's not oily and the meat is firm and nice.
If you have a sweet tooth, we recommend the Banana Split (Rs 300). But you can always try the Panchamrit (Rs 200), the Chocolate Brownie (Rs 300), or the Apple Pie with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream (Rs 300).
