Bhupendra in third place

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Bhupendra Niraula of Nepal, who collected six points at the end of the eighth round of the Asian Amateur Chess Championship being held in Brunei, is in the third position.

Daler Vakhidov of Uzbekistan is in the first position with 6.5 points. Bhupendra beat Stewart Manaog of Philippines on Friday.

Similarly, another Nepali player Dharam Bahadur Lama beat Eko Handoko of India in the eighth round on Friday. Dharam has 5.5 points.
