All the managerial works prior to the election have been complete after the Election Officials deployed in all 70 booths in the Constituency reached their respective places. They are now engaged on holding all-party meeting and carrying out booth construction.
The District Election Office, Baglung, have deployed a total of 350 staffs including 420 volunteers on the field for conducting the election. The Office has deployed a large number of securities in view to untoward incidents during the election time.
The security has been tightened and the a large number of police including post, reserve, mobile and striking forces, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prem Bahadur Basnet.
Around 60 election observers from Civil Observation Society and National Election Supervision Committee have been deployed in the Constituency.
The EC has also deployed a mega monitoring team under the coordination of Joint Secretary which will be carrying out the monitoring in an open as well as discrete manner to check the implementation of the election code of conduct and thereby to ensure free and fair environment in the by-election.
As many as 13 candidates of different 10 political parties and some independent candidates are in the fray in the by-election and 52,202 voters including 28,460 women are believed to vote their candidates. It is hoped that the result of the by-election would be released by the late afternoon on Sunday.
