The project constructed by the Api Hydro Power Company had earlier carried out successful test run but linked the generated electricity to the national grid only on July 21.
The electricity produced by the 8.5-megawatt-capacity Naugadh project located at Dethala VDC in Darchula was connected to the central transmission line which in turn will reduce the power outages in the Far-western region.
The generated electricity was linked to a substation located at Balanch in Shikar VDC-4 in Darchula where the Chameliya Hydro Power House is stationed. The dependency of Darchula, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Doti, Bajhang, Bajura and Achham on the imported electricity from India has ended with the use of the newly generated power.
The Company has already signed the power purchase agreement with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). RSS
