KATHMANDU, March 8: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Amaresh Kumar Singh has been elected to the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-4, defeating Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Gagan Kumar Thapa.
Singh secured 35,688 votes, while his nearest rival Thapa received 22,838 votes. Singh maintained a comfortable lead from the early stage of vote counting in the constituency.

CPN-UML candidate Amanish Kumar Yadav secured 9,343 votes, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Rajnish Rai Yadav received 1,401 votes and Janamat Party candidate Rakesh Mishra secured 1,572 votes.
Out of 121,012 registered voters in the constituency, 77,931 votes were cast.
