KATHMANDU, Nov 9: The UCPN (Maoist)-aligned All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF) has suspended Taranath Pant from its membership for his alleged involvement in the brutal attack on Maoist lawmaker and union leader Shalikram Jamkattel last August.

Police has claimed that he was the mastermind behind the attack that took place on the eve of prime ministerial election. Pant, the former ANTUF secretary, is known to be close to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.

In the statement, Bogati has appealed not to make any kind of dealings with him and asked for help to bring Pant to book.
