KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Having claimed the title of the First SAFF U-19 Championship in August at home ground, Nepali youth team is set to open its campaign of the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers against host Iran on Friday.
The Group E match between Nepal and Iran will be played at the Samen Al Aemeh Stadium, Mashhad at 21.15 NST. Nepal will face Kuwait on Sunday and play the last match against Jordan on Tuesday.
Nepal to host AFC U-16 qualifiers
Ten group winners and five best second-placed teams will qualify for the next year's finals along with host Bahrain team which had recieved automatic qualification (total 16 teams).
If Bahrain finishes top of their qualifying group or one of the five second best-placed teams, the next (6th) second placed team will qualify for the final competition, the Asian Football Confederation said.
